Stadium noise debate: bands or piped-in music?

Our stadium now plays music over the band between nearly every snap. The crowd stays loud, but the afternoon feels less connected to the school. I am not demanding silence or a return to 1970; a well-timed song can lift the building. Still, the band should own more of game day than a generic playlist heard in every arena. Where is the right balance?
