Coming back from a 15-point deficit in the fourth quarter is impressive enough. But Buffalo's 34-31 overtime victory against Miami (Ohio) had a moment that deserves far more attention than it might receive.

Will Clark's sack was arguably one of the biggest plays of the entire game.

With Miami threatening to add to its lead, Clark brought down the quarterback and pushed the RedHawks out of field goal range. That changed the situation completely. Instead of potentially facing an even bigger deficit, Buffalo got another opportunity to get back into the game.

Think about how different the ending might have been if Miami had managed to put three more points on the board. Buffalo would have faced a much tougher assignment during its comeback attempt.

We naturally remember the touchdowns, the big offensive plays and the players who eventually put points on the scoreboard. That's understandable. Those are the moments that make highlights.

But comebacks often depend on somebody making an important play when the team has absolutely no room for another mistake. Clark did exactly that.

Buffalo still had plenty of work to do, but his sack helped keep the door open. Sometimes the most important play of a game doesn't involve scoring a single point.

Do you give Will Clark as much credit for this comeback as the offensive players who scored the touchdowns, or do defensive contributions like this tend to get overlooked when a team wins in dramatic fashion?
